About the Customer
RIVA GmbH is a German company from Backnang (near Stuttgart) that has worked in façade and lighting engineering since 2004; a dedicated division, RIVA GmbH Lighting, develops and manufactures custom LED luminaires and control systems. The company is known for the glass façade of the Makkah Royal Clock Tower Hotel, which led to its involvement in lighting the Grand Mosque expansion in Mecca (roughly 800,000 LEDs across 12.5 km). The Haram expansion’s main contractor was the Saudi Binladin Group, one of the Middle East’s largest construction conglomerates, founded in 1931.
